1. Just visiting for a Saturday
Start your day seeing the Grampians National Park, visit the highlights. If you need breakfast or a coffee be sure to drop into Livestfast Cafe or grab a bite from the bakery next door. With picnic tables around Stoney Creek or in the park right in the centre of town - plenty of space to enjoy an outdoor breakfast to start the day.

9:30am: Start your drive up Mount Victory Road - see the highlights of the Grampians and start with Mackenzies Falls. Arrive by 10:30am and either make the walk to the bottom of the falls and back up, or walk around to the viewing area across from the falls. (2nd option is for low impact/effort)
11am: Next make your way to Reeds Lookout - this great viewing area is just 10 minutes from Mackenizie Falls. If you have the energy make the walk to The Balconies (it will take you 45 minutes return) or just enjoy the lookout points around Reeds lookout.
12noon: Next stop, check out Boroka Lookout - this is a great location to see "the Gap". The most popular viewing location and very easy, no walking required.
OR
9am: The Pinnacle - this walk is most popular, did you know you can do this walk from three different starting points. Very hard: start from Halls Gap (5 hours) called the Wonderland loop, or from Wonderland carpark, (3 hours) or Sundial Carpark (2 hours). Depending on which walk you do, will depend on your available remaining time.
If you finish in Halls Gap from the Wonderland loop, maybe drop into Paper Scissor Rock and call it a day......
If you have still half a day remaining - make your way to Reeds Lookout and walk out to the Balconies followed by visiting Boroka Lookout.

By 1pm, drive back down to the valley floor and opportunity to grab lunch. Head to Flame Brothers, Paper Rock Scissors or if you packed your own BBQ, visit the park to cook up a storm. Or grab fish & chips and sit in one of the parks.
2pm: time for fun or relax! Visit Halls Gap Electric bikes and hire a bike to cruise along the bike track to visit Lake Bellfield and back. Or take the challenge at Adventure Golf and go a round of 18 holes.
3pm: Jump on a Grampians Wine Tours - Beer and Wine Blast. Visit four locations in 3 hours in and around Halls Gap. Learn about the region and enjoy local wines and beers. Finishing at 6pm in Halls Gap. Just $110pp
6pm: Finish the tour in town - free to stay at the last location or visit others to enjoy the night.
2. Visiting Friday to Sunday
(without kids)
Arrive Friday by 2pm and check in to your accommodation.

4pm: Start your weekend by strolling through town - visit Grampians Wine Cellars for some amazing wine selection, grab an ice cream and visit one of the parks or check out the rest of the shops.
Dinner options for after the tour include: Flame Brothers, Paper Rock Scissors, Kookaburra Hotel or Spirit of Punjab.

3:pm: Visit Halls Gap Electric bikes and hire a bike, mention to Stu that you want to visit Adventure Golf and have a round. Cruise on your electric bike along the bike track, stop for a round of golf and maybe enjoy a beverage from the cafe (licensed cafe). OR
Jump on the Grampians Wine Tours - Beer and Wine Blast, visit 4 locations in 3 hours with drinks included at each stop - $110pp: more info here
6:30pm: Check at Halls Gap Hotel or Adventure Cafe - great for dinner, drinks and atmosphere. Make sure you book if staying for dinner - they are very popular.

Sunday:
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before you leave Halls Gap, time to get in one more small walk. Two great options, Venus Baths or Heatherlie Quarry - both beautiful and interesting. If you want some more adventure jump on a scenic flight with Grampians Helicopters with a 10 minute flight just $99pp (min 2).
OR
Check out by 8am and climb The Pinnacle. This popular walking track has a great view at the end, for the little more easier option and save time, depart the walk from Sundial carpark. Great to get a walk in before spending time in the car.
You will be departing by 12 noon/ 1pm to make your trip home.
3. Visiting Friday to Sunday
(with kids)
Arrive Friday by 2pm and check in to your accommodation.
4pm: Start your weekend by taking a family walk to Venus Baths. This walk is easy and departs right in the centre of Halls Gap. Perfect for young and old, plus check out the Botanical gardens at the end of the walk. Dinner at Halls Gap Hotel is perfect with children as they have a "brat shack" & playground - make sure you make a reservation as they are popular.

Saturday
10am: Visit the Bakery in town at Stoney Creek and grab fresh rolls/sandwiches and other treats to pack for lunch or if you need extra supplies the Supermarket is just 5 minutes walk away.
10:30am: Take a drive up Mount Victory Road and check out Boroka Lookout - this is a great location to see "the Gap". The most popular viewing location and very easy, no walking required.
11:30am: drive back down to the valley floor and head out Mount Zero Road to Heatherlie Quarry. This walk is easy to do and children love it as all the old mining equipment from 1888 still remains. You can enjoy your picnic lunch at the table during the walk with the supplies you picked up in the morning. Kids love exploring this area.

2pm: Time to explore the bike track, go for a walk or ride a bike. If you forgot your bike you can hire them in town. OR check out Pomonal Estate for opportunity to enjoy a beer/wine with lots of outdoor space (plus kids games) - a great family environment.
4pm: Time to relax and let the kids enjoy the local park in the centre of town. Maybe grab an ice cream - as you can not visit Halls Gap with out enjoying an ice cream.

6pm: Grab supplies from the supermarket and cook up a storm in the park at the BBQ's or visit The Views Restaurant with a park for the kids to play in onsite.

Sunday
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before leaving, surprise the kids with a flight from Grampians Helicopters with a 10 minute flight just $99pp. Children under 3 years, sit on an adults lap and are no charge. Children between 3-12 years, can sit on the same seat and are just one seat cost.
You will be departing by 12 noon/ 1pm to make your trip home.
4. Visiting for 4-5 days

Arrive Day 1
2pm: and check in to your accommodation. Check out which day the Halls Gap History Walking tour is available - here and join in one morning ($25pp) and learn all about the town.
4pm: Start your weekend by taking a walk into town and visit Chas at the Historical Society for some great photos and insights to the region and it's history. Then Venus Baths is just 10 minutes from town, this walk is easy and great at the end of the day. Perfect for young and old, plus check out the Botanical gardens at the end of the walk. Dinner in the centre of town at Flame Brothers or Paper Scissors Rock is a great way to enjoy the local atmosphere.

Day 2

1pm: Make your way to Zumsteins picnic area and enjoy your picnic lunch that you picked up this morning. From here you take take the walk to Fish Falls before returning back to your car.
3/4pm: Back down to Halls Gap to enjoy the afternoon. If Wednesday/Friday or Saturday - you can jump on the Grampians Wine Tours Beer & Wine Blast, just $80pp and you will learn about the area as you enjoy a few beverages. Or head over to the Halls Gap Hotel for drinks and dinner - make sure you book they are popular.

Day 3
9am: after grabbing breakfast and packing your lunch for the day (bakery or supermarket for supplies), Livefast Cafe is amazing for coffee & food, take the Mount Zero Road to Heatherlie Quarry. This walk is easy to do but is a step back into history, as all the old mining equipment from 1888 still remains.
11:30am: Continue on Mount Zero Road and head north and you will reach Beehive Falls - great stop for another walk. From here set the GSP for Grampians Olive Co - great spot to grab a coffee and try organic olives and olive oil, maybe book in advance a "tree to bottle" tour. But before you arrive, Gulgurn Manja Shelter if you want to visit a rock artist, just park at the Hollow Mountain carpark and the walk will take about 40 minutes return.
2pm: After visiting Grampians Olive co for a coffee, drive up to Stapylton campground where you can have your pre packed lunch before heading out on to see Ngamadjidj Shelter. Short 20 minutes walk.
4/5pm: Arrive back to Halls Gap. Maybe tonight you want to grab a bite to eat at Halls Gap Tavern or takeaway from Spirit of Punjab - amazing Indian food.
Day 4
10am: After you have grabbed breakfast - Time to explore the Aboriginal history of Gairwerd, visiting the free Brambuk Cultural centre is a great way to learn more about the region. Plus they have a cafe if you need a coffee/tea.
11:30am: Time for some fun. Just near by is the Adventure Golf with 18 holes. This course is a lot of fun, and set around nature - plus they have an onsite Cafe to grab lunch after your game.
1:30pm: Adventure afternoon options: maybe take a flight with Grampians Helicopters (starting from $99pp or take a scenic flight over the park, or land at a vineyard or lunch location) OR join a wine tour with Grampians Wine Tours - click here for all the options
OR jump on an electric E bike and cruise around the bike track. OR Visit the Halls Gap Zoo with over 160 species you will enjoy several hours walking around. OR jump on a Grampians Trike Tour departing from the centre of town everyday. OR check out Pomonal Estate & Fallen Giants for opportunity to enjoy a beer/wine with lots of outdoor space or a cheese platter. OR book in with Absolute Outdoors for some canoeing or rock climbing.
5pm: Time to relax and enjoy the evening. Maybe grab an ice cream - as you can not visit Halls Gap with out enjoying an ice cream.
6pm: Grab supplies from the supermarket and cook up a storm in the park at the BBQ's or visit The Views Restaurant for a great dinner.

Day 5
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before leaving, Halls Gap you must tick off one of the two best walks before leaving. Either The Pinnacle or Mt William. Both have great views and involve some effort - but worth it and great to do on your last morning in the region before sitting in the car possible for several hours.
Depart the area by 12noon.
5. Visiting for 2 relaxing
days (don't want any big walks)
Day 1
Arrive 2pm: and check in to your accommodation.
4pm: Start your visit by taking an small walk to Venus Baths. This walk is easy and departs right in the centre of Halls Gap. Perfect for young and old, plus check out the Botanical gardens at the end of the walk. Grab an ice cream from town (Halls Gap is famous for it's ice cream)
Dinner at Halls Gap Hotel is perfect or maybe Flame brothers or Paper Scissors Rock Brew Co.

Day 2
10am: Have a sleep in, then head to Livefast Cafe for brunch. Enjoy amazing food and coffee.
11am: Take a drive up Mount Victory Road and head up to Reeds Lookout for a visit, if you want a small walk, from here you take go out to The Balconies - flat easy 1 hour walk return. Then head back the way you came to drop into Boroka Lookout to see the valley floor - no walking involved at this location. Back to Halls Gap in time for lunch.

1pm: Grab some lunch from the centre of town with options such as Paper Scissors Rock, Flame Brothers, the local Bakery or make your way to Adventure Golf for the onsite Cafe. Maybe have a round of golf and enjoy a beverage while enjoying the afternoon in the bush setting.
3pm: Time to relax at a local vineyard, Pomonal Estate, Fallen Giants or jump on with Grampians Wine Tours - with afternoon beer & wine tour departing at 3pm ($110pp), visit 4 locations with drinks included and learn about the region.
6pm: Time to relax in town or at your accommodation.

Day 3
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before leaving, surprise your partner with a flight from Grampians Helicopters with our NEW 20 minute flight just $225pp, fly over the Grampians National Park. Or maybe take a flight to a local vineyard, olive farm or lunch location. Starting from $295pp.

6. Visiting for 2 days

2pm: and check in to your accommodation.
4pm: Start your weekend by taking a walk to Venus Baths. This walk is easy and departs right in the centre of Halls Gap. Perfect for young and old, plus check out the Botanical gardens at the end of the walk. On your way back to town stop and admire the new Art Wall, painted by 5 local artist & shows the 6 season of Gairwerd. Dinner at in the centre of town at Flame Brothers or Paper Scissors Rock is a great way to enjoy the local atmosphere.

Day 2
8:30am: Visit Livefast Cafe for breakfast which also shares its walls with local photographers work, in town at Stoney Creek.
9:30am: Start your drive up Mount Victory Road to Hollow Mountain car park where you head out on to see Gulgurn Manja Shelter which means "hands of young people" this easy walk will take about 45 minutes.
11:30am: Head to Grampians Olive Co and enjoy a coffee (only open weekdays). Next head off to Stapylton carpark where you will start your walk to Ngamadjidi Shelter an easy walk which should take less than 20 minutes.
1pm: Head towards Wartook and you will find a great lunch location called The Wander Inn, kind of in the middle of nowhere, the surroundings are perfect for enjoying nature.
2:30pm: Set the GPS for Billimina Shelter start the walk from the picnic ground car park, this walk is easy, taking about an hour.
3:30pm: Time to start heading back to Halls Gap, the drive will take about 1.5 hours from here.
5pm: Maybe tonight you want to grab a bite to eat at Halls Gap Hotel or takeaway from Spirit of Punjab - amazing Indian food.
Day 3
10am: After you have grabbed breakfast - Visit Brambuk Information centre for some great outdoor displays and information about our First Nation people.
11:30am: Time for some fun. Just near by is the Adventure Golf with 18 holes. This course is a lot of fun, and set around nature - plus they have an onsite Cafe to grab lunch after your game visit the onsite Art Gallery - more great local art work and Aboriginal artwork & gifts.
1:30pm: A few afternoon options: Maybe take a flight with Grampians Helicopters with a scenic flight over the Grampians, your pilot will be able to tell you all about the Aboriginal history of the area plus more.
OR check out Pomonal Estate & Fallen Giants for opportunity to enjoy a beer/wine with lots of outdoor space or a cheese platter, plus both locations have local artwork displayed onsite.
5pm: Time to relax and enjoy the evening. Maybe grab an ice cream - as you can not visit Halls Gap with out enjoying an ice cream.
6pm: Grab supplies from the supermarket and cook up a storm in the park at the BBQ's or visit The Views Restaurant for a great dinner where you can try emu and kangaroo which is on the menu. Or maybe the Kookaburra Restaurant right in town - which offers great pieces of history inside on the walls.

Day 4
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before leaving, Halls Gap you must tick off th emost important rock art shelters. On you way out of Halls Gap visit the Black Range Reserve the home of Bunjil Shelter - this artwork is regarded as the most important of all artworks open to the public. Just 20 minutes from Halls Gap, located just 5 minutes off the western hwy, closest town Stawell.
Depart the area by 12noon.

4pm: Start your weekend by have a stroll around town or visit Venus Baths, Lake Bellfield or even check out Silver Springs Falls (not in the middle of summer) At Sunset, grab a drink at the Halls Gap Hotel and watch the sun go over the mountain and Dinner options include: Halls Gap Hotel, Kookaburra Hotel, Raccolto Pizzeria or Spirit of Punjab - a local favourite.

Saturday
8am: Start your day with amazing big breakfast from Livefast Cafe or Flame Brothers. Fill up on fresh produce and great coffee.
9:30am: Pick up from the centre of town (or your accommodation) to start your Triple Treat Wine Tour. With Grampians Wine Tours: visit 3 vineyards, enjoy underground cellar tour and lunch before returning to Halls Gap by 2:30pm. In time to enjoy a local brew from Paper Scissors Rock Brew Co or visit Simon at Grampians Wine Cellars for some special wine available by the glass.
OR
VIP of the wine & food options. Book in advance with Grampians Helicopters, and choose from options such as landing at Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld, two hat restaurant, or maybe a heli wine or heli beer or maybe a wine hop - landing at 3 vineyards and includes lunch. Too many options, the sky's the limit... Grampians Helicopters can even arrange transport to/from Stawell airport for you.

4pm: Enjoy a walk around town, the botanical gardens or Venus Baths walk, maybe grab an ice cream from town and enjoy Stoney Creek or walk up to the park area to see a kangaroo or too.

6pm: Time for dinner with a view - do you love smoked meats, well dinner should be at Flame Brothers Restaurant & Bar OR maybe grab a takeaway from Spirit of Punjab and enjoy at your accommodation with maybe a bottle of local wine that you picked up during your wine tour.

Sunday:
Enjoy the morning, you deserve a sleep in. Check out by 10am. Before you leave Halls Gap, check out if the local markets are on at Pomonal or visit Five Ducks Farm to stock up on amazing local produce.
8. Surprise someone with this
romantic weekend
Friday: Arrive and check in.

4pm: Take a walk down to Halls Gap and check out the town. Then (depending on times) check when sunset is and take a drive up to Reeds Lookout, make sure you arrive at least 20-30 minutes before sunset to have a chance to look around before picking your spot to enjoy the sun setting. Drive back to Halls Gap - be careful, skippy likes to jump around the roads on dusk. OR just wanting to relax and enjoy, visit Pomonal Estate - order a wine or beer paddle and cheese/produce platter and sit and enjoy the views of the national park in this relaxing and pretty atmosphere.

Saturday:
10am: Sleep in OR get up early and take a small walk in the Grampians National Park (Venus Baths, Sliverband Falls, Lakeview Lookout) . Or go out for breakfast with Livefast Cafe severing up amazing food and drinks.

11:30am: Pick up for your transfer to Stawell Airport from Grampians Helicopters. After your safety briefing, jump onboard. You will fly over part of the Grampians National Park, learning all about the area before landing at Pomonal Estate to enjoy amazing views, beer, wine and food. Next land at the beautiful and historic Best's Wines for more wine tasting and underground cellar tour - this G"Grampians Grapes & Grains" Flight is just perfect for really surprising someone special. Transfers back to Halls Gap

Enjoy your evening in your accommodation or head out to dinner, at Halls Gap hotel you can ask for a perfect table for two. Or book in with The Views Restaurant for a quite dinner for two.
Sunday
10:00: Check out, visit the Halls Gap Zoo on the way out, just 5 minutes from Halls Gap and if you want to add another surprise, book an encounter at the zoo and get up and close with a Giraffe, Rhino or Meerkat, plus other options for a real memorable time in the Grampians.
9. top walks & hikes in 3 days
Here are 3 days of just hikes. Remember to take plenty of food and water with you, & if going off the beaten track make sure you advise someone where you are going - such as Brambuk information centre. Pick up a map from the information centre.

Day 1:

Once completed - take the same road a bit further on and park at Zumsteins and take the walk to Fish Falls. Jump back in the car and aim to be at Grampians Olive Co.
1pm: time for a coffee and try some olive and olive oil before you drive up to Stapylton camp ground and enjoy the lunch you packed. After lunch head off to the Gulgurn Manja Shelter, this walk is easy and only takes 40 minutes - park at Hollow Mountain car park. Next jump on the Mt Zero road and head towards Beehive Falls for another great walk. You can take the Mt Zero road all the way back to Halls gap.
Back in town by 5pm give or take.

Day 3:
9am: You can park your car at Brambuk cultural centre or at the end of Tandra Road to start this walk- Boronia Peak- this is 3-4 hours and rated medium. This walk offers unparalleled views and great rock formations. You can see either side of the Gap - take morning tea and enjoy at the top.
2pm: Head out to Silverband Falls. This walk is easy and a great to visit before making your way to Lake Bellfield - here take the time to walk across the wall and enjoy the environment and wonders of mankind. If you still have some energy, take a walk along the bike track in Halls Gap, it covers form one end of the town to the other and is a lovely way on sunset to enjoy the surroundings.

Day 4:
10am: If you still have enough time (and energy) take the Mt Zero road out past Plantation camp to Heatherlie Quarry - park at the car park and take the walk up to the site, where sandstone was blasted out of the mountain - good signage and remaining mining equipment makes this walks interesting.
Finish the day by 12noon.
10. I have been to the Grampians before - Give me something different
Here are 3 days of "not so popular" hikes. - Not because they aren't good - but because most people do the "main" walks first when visiting. Remember to take plenty of food and water with you, & if going off the beaten track make sure you advise someone where you are going - such as Brambuk information centre. Plus grab a map from the information centre - the phone service does not always work when relying on GPS/google.

Day 1:
8am: Set off along Mt Zero Road and park at Hollow Mountain car park. The walk to Hollow Mountain will take bout 2 hours but note it is rated hard - and shouldn't be attempted on days of rain as seep exposed ridge with scrambling involved. Finish by 11am.
11am: Back to the carpark, now head off in the direction of the signed marked: Gulgurn Manja Shelter - this walk is easy and should take not much more than 40 mins. See the hand prints pressed on to the rock face which are thought to be from children.
12:30noon: Head off to Grampians Olive co - opportunity to grab a coffee to taste olives and other products.
1pm: Time to explore another rock art shelter. Drive just up the road to Stapylton carpark and follow the signs to Ngamadjidj Shelter. This should take not take much longer than 20 minutes.
1:30pm: Depart for Wartook and look out for the sign to The Wander Inn - this is a great lunch location and to grab a refreshing drink.
3pm: head back along Mount Zero Road and stop at Zumsteins. Check out the remains of the buildings on this short walk, before heading from the carpark to Fish Falls, taking just under 2 hours.
5:30pm: Back to Halls Gap - enjoy the popular Spirit of Punjab or Halls Gap Hotel for dinner.

Day 2:
8am: Head south on Tourist road and park at the Mount William car park. This walk to the top of the highest peak - Mount William, offers 360 degree views and is worth doing. Allow 1.5 hours to walk up and down.
10:30am: Continue south and park at Piccaninny Carpark. From here your 1.5 hour walk to the summit of The Piccaninny is rated easy-medium and after this walk you are not too far from the little town of Dunkeld where you can visit for lunch/coffee if required.
2pm: Set off and put Kalymna Falls into your GPS/look on your map. Depending which way to go, you may pass the small town of Moyston, and again this little town has a General store with a good selection of food/drinks if required. Once at the car park area for Kalymna Falls, this walk is easy and should only take just over an hour. From here you can head back to Halls Gap.
4:30pm: If you make it into Pomonal before 5pm, maybe a quick visit to Pomonal Estate for a tasty beer, cider or wine is on the cards. OR if after 5pm, drop into Barney's bar & bistro in Pomonal - with dinner available from 6pm.

Day 3:
8am: Start your day from the main football oval in town - Chatauqua Peak & Clematis Falls will take about 3 hours and is rated medium. Finish by 11am, grab an early lunch from town.
12noon: Heading off again up Mount Victory Road - turn in to Glenelg River (dirt) road. Approx. 2km past Moora Track look for the Paddy Castle car park. Paddy Castle walk is easy/medium but offers 360 degree views and not far, is the Friends of Gariwerd Red Gum walk - also great for seeing wildlife and wildflowers during spring.
Enjoy a snack at this location before jumping in the car and heading towards Silverband Falls. This walk is easy and a great to visit before making your way to Lake Bellfield - here take the time to walk across the wall and enjoy the environment and wonders of mankind.
6:30pm: Check our Flame Brothers restaurant or Paper Scissors Rock brew Co for dinner, both very new and you will find them right in the centre of Halls Gap.

Day 4:
If you have time before departing - try and fit in the walk - Boronia Peak- this is 3-4 hours and rated medium. Park at Brambuk cultural centre, this walk offers unparalleled views and great rock formations.
